Gene Washington (Mt. Vernon, AL) and 23-year-old Toby Nelson Menotti (Starkville, MS) were fatally injured in an accident that took place on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.
Early Tuesday morning Mr. Washington was driving a log truck south on Highway 45 near AL 17. Mr. Menotti was driving a 2017 Ford Fusion north on Highway 45. The two vehicles collided head-on before Mr. Washington’s log truck wrapped itself around a tree and struck a utility pole.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
