Two unidentified drivers were fatally injured in an accident that took place on Saturday, May 23, 2020.

At approximately 4:40 a.m. a vehicle (2013 Jeep Wrangler) traveling south in the northbound lanes of traffic on Interstate 55 struck a northbound vehicle (2017 Chevrolet) at the overpass near mile marker 63.5. “As a result of the impact, both vehicles caught fire.”

Neither driver has yet been identified.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
