Teenager Fatally Injured in Magnolia, AR Wreck
24-year-old Emily Busby (Duck Hills, MS) was fatally injured in an accident on Monday, May 29, 2023.
At approximately 4:13 p.m. Ms. Emily Busby was the passenger in a vehicle (1986 Cadillac Deville) traveling east on I-40 near West Memphis. Ms. Busby’s vehicle collided with an eastbound vehicle (2008 Hino Box Van) that was stopped in the righthand lane of I-40 and unoccupied. Following the initial collision, Ms. Busby’s vehicle struck an eastbound 18-wheeler (2019 Volvo) traveling in the middle lane. Ms. Busby sustained fatal injuries in the collision.
30-year-old Abdi Mahbi (San Antonio, Texas) was standing outside the stopped van. The initial collision forced the stopped vehicle into Mr. Mahbi who sustained injuries in the accident.
24-year-old Freddy Cotto, Jr. (Oxford, Mississippi) was traveling in the eastbound Cadillac vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision.
Those injured were transported to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, TN.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
