Pedestrian Struck & Killed on Highway 59 Near Decatur

36-year-old David P. Atwood (Gravette, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Saturday, May 15, 2021.

At approximately 4:40 a.m. Mr. Atwood “was walking in the southbound lane” of State Highway 59 south of Decatur when he was struck by a southbound vehicle (2002 Jeep Cherokee). Mr. Atwood was transported to Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Conditions were cloudy and dry.
