Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
51-year-old Chad E. Smith (Springdale, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Saturday, February 22, 2020.
Shortly before 11:00 a.m. Mr. Smith was driving east on U.S. Highway 412 in Madison County when his vehicle “crossed over the right fog line” and ran into the ditch before over-correcting and reentering the highway. Mr. Smith’s vehicle (2003 Chevrolet) crossed into the median before overturning and entering the westbound lanes of traffic.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
