Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
19-year-old Caleb Basinger-Wills (Bald Knob, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Monday, September 21, 2020.
At approximately 3:10 p.m. Mr. Basinger-Wills attempted to cross U.S. Highway 67 from east to west on foot near mile marker 45 in Searcy when he was struck by a northbound vehicle (2019 Dodge Charger). According to the report, “the driver of [the vehicle] was unable to slow in time.”
Mr. Basinger-Wills was transported to Unity Health – White County Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.
Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
