Truck Driver Loses Life in I-30 Collision in Little Rock

70-year-old Arturo Ortiz Palacio (Mexico) was fatally injured in an accident on Friday, January 21, 2022.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m. Mr. Palacio was traveling west on I-30 near Exit 135 (65th Street) when his 18-wheeler (2007 Freightliner) lost control and crossed the concrete median wall. Mr. Palacio’s 18-wheeler collided head-on with an eastbound vehicle (2017 Transit Van).

58-year-old Mark Wyne Vanatta (Lone Oak, TX) was driving the eastbound vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision. Mr. Vanatta was transported to St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock.
