Newport Car Accident Claims the Life of Amanda Chapman

41-year-old Amanda S. Chapman (Newport, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Monday, September 14, 2020.

At approximately 7:50 p.m. Ms. Chapman’s vehicle (2017 Chevrolet Traverse) was stationary crossways on Highway 384 due to a prior accident with another vehicle (2019 Dodge Ram 1500). A westbound vehicle (2014 GMC Sierra) collided with both Ms. Chapman’s vehicle and the other stopped vehicle on Highway 384.

31-year-old Blake Pretty (Newport, AR) and an unidentified female minor were also in Ms. Chapman’s vehicle.

81-year-old James T. London (Grubbs, AR) and 71-year-old Donna R. London (Grubbs, AR) were traveling in the Dodge vehicle at the time of the accident.

77-year-old Doyle K. Ballard (Newport, AR) was traveling in the GMC vehicle.

Several occupants were transported with injuries to nearby Unity Health in Newport, UAMS in Little Rock, and St. Bernard’s Medical Center.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
