Head-On Collision in Hempstead County Claims Two Lives

A head-on collision in Ozan, Arkansas on Friday, June 30 at 7:31 p.m. resulted in two lives lost. 27-year-old Edward Fizer (Nashville) and 73-year-old Jeff White (Hope) were both fatally injured in the collision.

Mr. Fizer was driving eastbound on Highway 278 in a 2008 Mazda 3. Mr. White was the passenger in a westbound 2014 Nissan Altima. Mr. Fizer lost control of his Mazda while negotiating a curve and crossed into westbound traffic striking the Nissan Altima. Both vehicles left the north side of the roadway.

Two injured include the driver of the Nissan Altima, Ramona Bailey (Texarkana), and a 2nd passenger, Dorothy Dixon (Hope).

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
