3-Vehicle Wreck on I-40 Near Ozark Proves Fatal

58-year-old George Liles (Ozark, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Friday, December 27, 2019.

At approximately 6:24 p.m. Mr. Liles was in a stationary vehicle on the left-hand side of Interstate 40 (west) near mile marker 32 when the vehicle (2004 Chevrolet) attempted to pull into the inside lane of traffic on I-40. Mr. Liles’ vehicle was struck by two westbound vehicles (1999 Ford & 2014 Honda).

51-year-old Mary Bonner (Edmond, OK) and 20-year-old Rebecca Bonner (Edmond, OK) were traveling in the 2014 Honda traveling west on I-40.

68-year-old Wilbur Gaines (Lavaca, AR) was traveling in the 1999 Ford vehicle traveling west on I-40.

52-year-old Joanna Wall (Mulberry, AR) was traveling in the same vehicle (2004 Chevrolet) as Mr. Liles at the time of the accident.

Those injured were transported with injuries to Baptist Hospital and Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.

Conditions were reportedly cloudy and dry.
