2 Blytheville Residents Thrown from Vehicle in I-55 Wreck

41-year-old Willis Currie (Blytheville, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Tuesday, August 27, 2019.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. Mr. Currie was the passenger in a vehicle traveling south on Interstate 55 in Blytheville that lost control and exited the roadway. Mr. Currie’s vehicle (2010 Nissan) struck a fence before overturning. Both Mr. Currie and the driver of the vehicle were ejected from the vehicle.

54-year-old Mary Simpson (Blytheville, AR) was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident and was transported to a Memphis hospital with injuries.

Weather conditions were cloudy and road conditions dry at the time of the accident.
