32-year-old Carl Jake Crawford of Hampton lost his life in a fatal ATV crash at 12:25 a.m. on Saturday, August 4.
Mr. Crawford was headed east on Calhoun 29 after turning off Calhoun 304. The driver appeared to lose control of his Polaris Ranger on the gravel road. He attempted to correct the ATV but slid off the roadway and struck a tree head-on, before continuing to skid another 10 feet and striking a second tree.
Conditions at the time were reportedly clear and dry.
