Vehicle Goes Airborne in a Fatal Calhoun County Wreck

27-year-old Reginald Kizzie, Jr. (Missouri City, TX) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Thursday, September 6. A passenger, Tyree Smith (Katy, TX) was injured in the accident.

At approximately 2:30 p.m. Mr. Kizzie was traveling south on U.S. Highway 167 near Hampton, Arkansas when he failed to maintain control of his vehicle on wet pavement and crossed the center line. Mr. Kizzie’s 2017 Hyundai Sonata left the roadway entered into a roadside ditch before striking a culvert and going airborne. Upon landing the vehicle struck a tree. 20-year-old passenger Tyree Smith (Katy, TX) was transported to a nearby South Arkansas Medical Center with injuries.

Weather conditions were raining and road conditions were wet at the time of the accident.
