36-year-old Rebecca Ann Martinez (Rose Bud, AR) and 68-year-old Sudie Carpenter (Ward, AR) were both fatally injured in an accident that took place on Saturday, June 29, 2019.

Shortly after midnight (12:00 a.m.) Ms. Martinez was traveling south on Highway 31 between Beebe and Woodlawn. Ms. Carpenter was traveling north on Highway 31 when her vehicle (1995 Toyota Avalon) crossed the center line and struck Ms. Martinez’s vehicle (2010 Toyota Corolla) head-on.

The collision occurred near Yielding Road.

There was an unidentified minor in Ms. Martinez’s vehicle at the time of the accident. They were transported to Arkansas Children’s Hospital with injuries.

Conditions at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry.
