3 Pedestrians Lose Their Lives in 3 Separate AR Wrecks in 1 Day

Three separate accidents on Friday evening, April 26, 2024, claimed the lives of three pedestrians in Arkansas.

8:15 p.m.

At approximately 8:15 p.m. 39-year-old Mary Castillo (Sherwood, AR) was fatally injured in an accident. According to the report, Ms. Castillo was in the roadway when she was struck by an eastbound vehicle (1997 Ford F150) in North Little Rock. The accident took place at 4800 McCain Boulevard in North Little Rock. Ms. Castillo was transported to UAMS where she later succumbed to her injuries. Conditions were rainy and wet.

9:50 p.m.

At approximately 9:50 p.m. 37-year-old Julian Aldaco Diaz (Springdale, AR) was fatally injured in an accident. According to the report, Mr. Diaz attempted to cross S. Thompson (U.S. 71B) in Springdale when he was struck by a northbound vehicle (2012 Chevy Spark). The accident took place near Hembree Street. Mr. Diaz was transported to Washington Regional Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries. Conditions were cloudy and wet.

11:40 p.m.

At approximately 11:40 p.m. 32-year-old Michael Hernandez (Baton Rouge, LA) was fatally injured in an accident. According to the report, Mr. Hernandez was struck by an 18-wheeler in the middle of the outside lane of I-30 near mile marker 8. The accident took place in Texarkana. Conditions were clear and dry.
