Wreck Amidst Construction on I-40 Claims Driver's Life

63-year-old Paul Phillips (Fort Smith, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Monday, August 5, 2019.

At approximately 3:42 p.m. Mr. Phillips was driving west on Interstate 40. A vehicle (2014 Toyota) traveling west on I-40 was stopped in a construction zone near mile marker 10. Mr. Phillips’ vehicle (2007 Yamaha motorcycle) collided with the right rear of the stopped Toyota vehicle before exiting the roadway and coming to a stop on the shoulder.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
