Wet Conditions Lead to Fatal Motorcycle Wreck on Highway 7

65-year-old Orval L. Nelson (Joplin, Missouri) was fatally injured in an accident on Saturday, April 24, 2021.

At approximately 3:20 p.m. Mr. Nelson was traveling south on State Highway 7 when his motorcycle (2006 Harley Davidson) left the roadway. According to the report, Mr. Nelson’s motorcycle “traveled approximately 36 feet before striking a bluff.”

Road conditions were wet and weather conditions cloudy at the time of the accident.

Mr. Nelson was transported to Cox South Medical Center in Springfield where he succumbed to his injuries.
