80-year-old Marvin Cobb (Corning, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Tuesday, July 28, 2020.

Shortly before 11:00 a.m. Mr. Cobb was traveling south in the outside lane of Highway 49 from Paragould towards Jonesboro when his 18-wheeler (1994 Freightliner) veered across the centerline and into the northbound lane of traffic. 37-year-old Jason A. Duke (Paragould, AR) was driving north on Highway 49 when Mr. Cobb’s 18-wheeler crossed the centerline. Mr. Duke attempted to avoid a collision driving onto the righthand shoulder where Mr. Cobb’s southbound 18-wheeler struck Mr. Duke’s semi-truck (2000 Freightliner).

Mr. Duke was transported to NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro with injuries.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
