4-Vehicle Wreck on I-530 Leads to the Death of Lisa Howard

59-year-old Lisa P. Howard (New Edinburg, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Tuesday, September 17, 2019.

At approximately 11:48 a.m. Ms. Howard was a passenger traveling north on I-530 in Jefferson County when her vehicle (2014 GMC) was struck by a northbound 18-wheeler (2006 International). The International semi-truck traveling north struck Ms. Howard’s vehicle in addition to two other vehicles (2013 Nissan and 2006 Toyota). Both the Nissan and Toyota vehicles left the roadway to the east. The 18-wheeler left the roadway to the west before jackknifing.

The International 18-wheeler, Ms. Howard’s GMC vehicle, and the Toyota vehicle caught fire.

62-year-old Danny R. Howard (New Edinburg, AR) was driving the GMC vehicle at the time of the accident. 65-year-old Jane R. Cezar (Little Rock, AR) was driving the Nissan vehicle at the time of the accident. Both were transported with injuries to a nearby medical center.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry at the time of the accident.
