20-year-old Katelyn McDaniel (Lake City, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

Shortly after 8:00 a.m. Ms. McDaniel was driving east on State Highway 18 in Diaz when her vehicle crossed the centerline. Ms. McDaniel’s vehicle (2013 Nissan) collided head-on with a vehicle (2006 GMC) traveling west on State Highway 18.

27-year-old Erica Crump (Newport, AR) was driving the GMC vehicle west on Highway 18. Ms. Crump was transported with injuries to Unity Health Hospital in Newport.

Conditions were reportedly clear and dry.
