Rainy Conditions Lead to Fatal Hot Springs Wreck on Albert Pike

48-year-old Jimmy Don Weatherford, Jr. (Hot Springs, AR) was fatally injured in an accident that occurred on Monday, October 26, 2020.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m. Mr. Weatherford was a passenger in a vehicle traveling east on Highway 270 (Albert Pike Road) when his vehicle (1998 Ford Ranger) began to hydroplane near Bayou Point before crossing the centerline and striking a westbound vehicle (2007 Dodge Dakota).

21-year-old Jace Popow (Hot Springs, AR) was driving the westbound vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision. 59-year-old Ray Roberson (Hot Springs, AR) also sustained injuries in the accident.

Weather conditions were rainy and cloudy and road conditions were wet at the time of the accident.
