Motorcycle Accident on Phoenix Ave in Fort Smith Proves Fatal

53-year-old James Layne (Barling, AR) was fatally injured in a motorcycle accident on Saturday, February 19, 2022.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m. Mr. Layne was traveling east on Phoenix Avenue in Fort Smith when his motorcycle (2020 Harley Davidson) left the roadway while negotiating a left-hand curve. Mr. Layne was transported to Mercy Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
