Icy I-49 Results in Fatal Accident Near West Fork

57-year-old Joseph Palasak, of Rogers, was fatally injured on Saturday, February 10th during a multi-car crash on an icy I-49 North, near the West Fork exit.

 

Cloudy and freezing rain conditions led to several vehicles colliding on an I-49 bridge near 5:45 p.m. As many as 20 vehicles were involved in the accident. According to the Arkansas State Police report, Mr. Palask had exited his vehicle when a second vehicle, a 2005 Nissan Murano, lost control and slid into Mr. Palask’s 2016 Honda Pilot, also striking Mr. Palask and forcing him over the side of the bridge.
