High Speed Chase Leads to a Fatal Accident in Fort Smith

56-year-old Victor Sallee, of Van Buren, lost his life after leading police on a high-speed chase through Fort Smith at approximately 1:45 a.m. on Friday, March 2nd. According to report, Mr. Sallee was driving erratically when police attempted to pull him over. He then accelerated and began to swerve on and off the road. At the intersection of Zero Street and Massard Road struck a westbound truck head-on.

 

Lakia Dale and Hunter Cleveland were in the truck, which attempted to swerve and avoid Mr. Cleveland, but he veered as well. “He intentionally served and hit us,” according to the driver, Lakia Dale.

 

Ms. Dale and Mr. Cleveland were both taken to a nearby hospital and released.
