Head-On Collision on Highway 63 Proves Fatal

59-year-old Leshia Sowheaver (Rison, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Friday, November 4, 2022.

Ms. Sowheaver was a passenger in a vehicle (2006 Toyota Sienna) traveling north on U.S. Highway 63. Ms. Sowheaver’s vehicle lost control on wet roadways and crossed the centerline. Ms. Sowheaver’s vehicle collided head-on with a southbound vehicle (2022 Volkswagen Atlas) in the southbound lane of traffic.

4 additional passengers in Ms. Leshia Sowheaver’s vehicle sustained injuries: 60-year-old Doyle Sowheaver (Rison, AR), 36-year-old Lishia R. Billings (Rison, AR), 38-year-old Justin Billings (Rison, AR) and an unidentified minor.

26-year-old Rebecca Frizzell (Little Rock, AR) and an unidentified minor were traveling in the Volkswagen vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision.

Those injured were transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center.

Conditions were reportedly cloudy and road conditions wet at the time of the accident.
