19-year-old Hannah A. Cates (North Little Rock, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Thursday, March 2, 2023.
Shortly after 11:30 p.m. Ms. Cates was a passenger in a vehicle traveling south on Highway 165 in southern Lonoke County when the vehicle (2002 Pontiac) crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a northbound vehicle (2021 Ford) in the northbound lane of traffic.
The driver, 21-year-old Tavion Ellis (Little Rock, AR), and an additional passenger, 18-year-old Natalya Lawson (North Little Rock, AR), were also injured in the accident. Those injured were transported to UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, and Baptist Health Springhill in North Little Rock.
Weather conditions were rainy and road conditions were wet at the time of the accident.
