Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
20-year-old Elijah Boatman (Fort Smith, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Thursday, March 16, 2023.
At approximately 10:21 p.m. Mr. Elijah Boatman was traveling north on Hendricks Boulevard in Fort Smith when a westbound vehicle (2008 Dodge) attempted to make a left-hand turn off of South “T” Street onto Hendricks Blvd. The Dodge vehicle made its turn onto Hendricks in Mr. Boatman’s path and Mr. Boatman’s vehicle (2017 Toyota) collided with the westbound Dodge vehicle. Mr. Boatman sustained fatal injuries in the collision.
Weather conditions were rainy and road conditions were wet at the time of the accident.
