Minor Fatally Injured in Construction Zone Wreck on Highway 1

An unidentified female minor was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Saturday, December 7, 2019.

At approximately 6:12 p.m. the minor girl’s vehicle (2003 Toyota Sequoia) dropped off the roadway upon entering a work zone while traveling north on State Highway 1. The vehicle overcorrected reentering the roadway and crossing the centerline. The Toyota vehicle collided with a southbound vehicle (2018 Nissan Frontier) in the southbound lane of traffic.

34-year-old Annette Frye (Jonesboro, AR) and two additional female minor passengers were injured in the accident.

48-year-old William Colvin (Wynne, AR) and 56-year-old Celeste Colvin (Wynne, AR) also sustained injuries during the accident.

Weather conditions were foggy at the time of the accident.
