I-49 Wreck in Arkansas Claims 1 Life, Injures 2 More

85-year-old Benita Aston (Lowell, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Friday, June 7, 2024.

At approximately 4:30 p.m. Ms. Aston was the passenger in a vehicle (2017 Subaru Forester) traveling north on I-49 in Washington County. Ms. Aston’s vehicle merged into the outside lane and collided with another northbound vehicle (1998 Buick LeSabre). Both vehicle exited the roadway following the initial collision. Ms. Aston sustained fatal injuries in the collision.

79-year-old William Aston (Lowell, AR) also sustained injuries in the collision.

Additionally, 22-year-old Doug Sullivan (Rogers, AR) was driving the Buick vehicle and sustained injuries in the accident. Those injured were transported to Washington Regional Hospital.
