Wrong Way Vehicle on I-40 Leads to Fatal Wreck
25-year-old Alish Ratnani (Mabelvale, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Saturday, July 8, 2023.
At approximately 12:30 p.m. Mr. Ratnani was traveling south in the northbound lane of U.S. 165 in Arkansas County. Mr. Ratnani’s vehicle (2003 Ford) veered left to the northbound shoulder to avoid a collision with a southbound vehicle (2016 Jeep) in the southbound lane. At the same time, the southbound vehicle veered right to the northbound shoulder to avoid a collision and collided head-on.
23-year-old Arleigh M. Allen (England, AR), 46-year-old Cedric Allen (England, AR), and an unidentified minor were traveling in the Jeep vehicle and sustained injuries in the crash. Those injured were transported to Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock and Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Mr. Ratnani sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
