Yes. I do have some advice for someone who’s been involved in an intersection accident. If you find yourself in that situation, you need to make sure that you get the names and phone numbers of any eyewitnesses that, are there at the scene. Even if those eyewitnesses leave before the police get there and the police never know that they were even there, or the police get there, there are a lot of people around, and they don’t get all the names and addresses of the of the witnesses because they’re busy.
They’re trying to clear the intersection. They’re trying to do their thing. An intersection accident can quickly turn into a he said, she said about who had the light. There’s there’s no telling how many times a week I have to tell people that I can’t help them with an intersection accident because there’s no way to prove their case.
Even if the at the scene, the other driver gets out of the car and apologizes and admits fault, if it’s just between you and that other driver, it’s still a he said, she said about what really happened. Security cameras do play a role in intersection accidents and accidents in general. But, you know, even though we have more and more cameras in our society, some people think those little camera looking things in an intersection are actually cameras. Usually, they’re not.
So don’t rely on that thinking that, hey, I’ve got this on a camera. I’ve got this thing locked down. Usually, in that situation, you have a witness that may stop. If you can get that witness’s name and phone number somewhere down the road, it’s gonna pay dividends if you’ll if you’ll lock down that information.
