Vehicle Hydroplanes in Russellville Wreck, Claiming a Minor's Life

An unidentified minor was fatally injured in an accident in Pope County on Saturday, October 13 at approximately 2:20 p.m.

The minor was a passenger in a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze headed south on State Highway 124 in Russellville. The vehicle began to hydroplane and spin several times before colliding head-on with a second vehicle (2014 Chevrolet Camaro) headed north on Highway 124. The youth was transported to Arkansas Children’s Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries on Monday, October 15.

Weather conditions were rainy and road conditions wet at the time of the accident.
