Wrong-Way Vehicle Causes Fatal Accident on I-55 in AR

27-year-old Dontrel Washington (Blytheville, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Thursday, June 30, 2022.

At approximately 7:48 p.m. Mr. Washington was traveling north on Interstate 55 in the southbound lanes of traffic. Mr. Washington’s vehicle (2010 Pontiac G6) was reportedly traveling north in the lefthand southbound lane of traffic on I-55 near mile marker 28. A southbound vehicle (2016 Toyota Rav4) swerved to avoid a collision but struck Mr. Washington’s vehicle. Mr. Washington’s vehicle continued north colliding head-on with another southbound vehicle (2020 Jeep Cherokee).

25-year-old Stuart Cuvillier (Washington, Iowa) and 28-year-old Olivia Perry (Washington, IA) were traveling in the Toyota vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision.

26-year-old Holly Horton (Wentzville, MO) was traveling in the Jeep vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision.

Those injured were transported to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, TN.
