Highway 67 Shoulder Collision Leaves One Dead

57-year-old Kahuna Melvin Matthias (Fort Worth, TX) was fatally injured in an accident that took place on Sunday, May 26, 2019.

At approximately 7:23 a.m. Mr. Matthias was a passenger in a vehicle traveling south on U.S. 67/167 in Pulaski County. Mr. Matthias’ vehicle (2017 Chevrolet Malibu) left the roadway to the right and struck a 2007 Hyundai Tucson parked on the shoulder with a flat tire.

The driver, 27-year-old Kevin Lee Jr. (Bedford, TX), and a second passenger, 56-year-old Jimel Teal (Fort Worth, TX) were transported with injuries.

22-year-old Aja Harris (Little Rock, AR) and an unidentified minor female were in the Hyundai Tucson at the time of the accident. They too were transported with injuries to a nearby medical center.

Conditions at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry.
