Fatal Accident Results in Two Lives Lost

Police say that a 2014 Chevrolet driving north on Arkansas Road 355 south of Tolette, Arkansas attempted to pass a vehicle on Thursday, December 14th at approximately 4:40 pm. The vehicle crashed head-on in the southbound lane with a 2003 Ford vehicle.

Marcus Fortman, 25, from Texarkana, Arkansas was driving the Chevrolet vehicle when he attempted to pass in a right-hand curve. Both Mr. Fortman, and his passenger, 54-year-old, Clarence Sims, of Texarkana, Arkansas, suffered fatal injuries.

Reports indicated three other people were injured in the wreck, though names and extent of injuries have not been listed.

Conditions at the time of the accident were said to be dry and clear.

Accident Location: Arkansas 355, south of Tolette, Arkansas in Howard County.
