Staff Spotlight: James Morningstar

We’re shining our law firm’s Staff Spotlight on James Morningstar this month!

James is celebrating one year with Taylor King Law, where he serves as a Case Manager handling Social Security disability claims. Over the past year, he has brought compassion, dedication, and strong communication skills to every client interaction, helping guide people through what can often be a long and difficult process.

One of James’ favorite places to visit has always been Colorado, where his grandparents lived. Nothing compares to the crisp mountain air, scenic views, and, most importantly, the opportunity to spend quality time with family.

In his free time, James enjoys traveling and cooking with his fiancée, who will soon be his wife, along with watching movies and television shows, camping, exploring the outdoors, and trying new restaurants so he can recommend the best spots to friends and family. This year is especially exciting for him as he looks forward to getting married and honeymooning in Ireland!

The best piece of advice that has stayed with him is: “The two most important questions in your life are ‘Who are you going to live your life with?’ and ‘Who are you going to live your life for?’”

When it comes to food, James says he could happily eat breakfast foods for every meal of the day.

In his role, James believes success comes from being an active listener, staying organized, communicating effectively with both clients and coworkers, and understanding when to empathize versus sympathize with clients. What he enjoys most about his position is building meaningful relationships with clients throughout the Social Security disability process. Because these cases often take a long time, he appreciates being able to provide reassurance and familiarity to clients during difficult moments and celebrates alongside them when their claims are approved.

He describes his experience at the firm in three words: Fulfilling, Evolving, and Motivating.

A fun fact about James is that he has camped more than 100 nights outdoors, backpacked and hiked over 250 miles, and canoed more than 100 miles. He believes the world is too beautiful not to get outside and enjoy nature whenever possible.
