Head-on Collision Near Paragould, AR Proves Fatal

58-year-old Melissa A. Alsup (Paragould, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Saturday, February 14, 2026.

At approximately 5:27 p.m., Ms. Alsup was traveling north on US 49 between Jonesboro and Paragould when her vehicle (2007 Cadillac) crossed the centerline and struck a southbound vehicle (2019 Kia) head-on in the southbound lane of traffic. Ms. Alsup sustained fatal injuries in the accident.

47-year-old Bryan K. Parker (Brookland, AR) and 47-year-old Ashley D Allen (Brookland, AR) were traveling in the Kia vehicle and sustained injuries in the collision. Those injured were transported to Arkansas Methodist Medical Center.

Weather conditions were cloudy at the time of the accident.
