1 Life Lost, 3 Injured in Craighead County Car Wreck

76-year-old Frankie Upton (Walnut Ridge, AR) was fatally injured in an accident on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

At approximately 10:15 p.m. Mr. Upton was traveling south on Highway 1 south of Jonesboro when his vehicle (2002 Buick LeSabre) crossed into the northbound lane and struck a northbound vehicle (2020 Cadillac XT4) head-on. Mr. Upton sustained fatal injuries in the collision.

Additionally, 54-year-old Tammy Upton (Jonesboro, AR), 47-year-old Jean Goza (Jonesboro, AR), and 48-year-old Bobby Goza (Jonesboro, AR) all sustained injuries in the accident. Those injured were transported to St. Bernard’s Medical Center and NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.
