We’re pleased to announce that attorney Ross King has been selected to receive the 2025-2026 Outstanding Member – Young Lawyer Division by the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association.
This award is given in recognition of Ross’s outstanding contributions to the legal field. According to the announcement, “[Ross] has demonstrated the skills, ethics, and dedication to advancing and protecting the rights of individuals and the American Justice system, in addition to being an active and involved member of ATLA.”
“It’s an honor to even have been nominated. To actually win is another thing entirely. I know plenty of other lawyers who I would say are more deserving than I, and I’ve seen plenty of other lawyers whose accomplishments amaze me, win this award before.” – Ross King
We asked Ross a few questions about himself and his experience as a trial attorney in Arkansas…
My mom started a career in the judicial system before I was even able to form memories. I spent a lot of time as a kid meeting Judges and Justices with her through her work, and that continued well on into adulthood. In a lot of ways, being in that environment starting at such a young age put me on a path to this career.
The best part about practicing law is when you know you did everything you could to help someone. You get them a really good result with whatever problem they are facing, and they are appreciative of the work you did. Those moments add fuel to the fire to help the next person in line.
I wouldn’t know up from down in this field if it weren’t for my mentors. They’ve taught me not just how to practice law, but how to approach problems, and more importantly, how to approach people.
I watch pretty much every Razorback game that involves a ball. I’m a shareholder of the Green Bay Packers, so I’m plugged into their games also. Every Monday, I play baseball with friends, and I try to golf when I can. I read when I can and cuddle my dog when she’ll let me.
Right now, I really just want to keep growing as a lawyer. There’s a lot that I still have to learn and there are things I need more experience in. To keep from drowning you have to swim and that just means taking one stroke after another until eventually you get where you’re trying to go. I just hope that one day I can look back and be proud of how far I’ve come.
