Fort Smith Intersection Wreck Proves Fatal on Saturday
73-year-old Walter S. Conway (Hope, AR) and 21-year-old Jaylen C. Willis (Texarkana, AR) were fatally injured in an accident that took place shortly before 5:30 a.m. on Monday, November 26 in Hempstead County.
Mr. Willis was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata west on Highway 278 West in Ozan when he lost control and crossed the centerline. Mr. Conway was a passenger in a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado. Mr. Willis’ vehicle struck Mr. Conway’s eastbound 2017 Chevrolet Silverado, which in turn veered into the westbound lane of Highway 278 and struck a westbound 2003 Nissan Frontier.
The driver of the 2017 Chevrolet, 58-year-old Myra Conway (Hope, AR), and the driver of the 2003 Nissan Frontier, 61-year-old Lena P. White (Washington, AR), were both transported with injuries.
Conditions at the time of the accident were reportedly clear and dry.
